My paintings invite viewers into constructed dreamscapes where the relationship between nature and architecture is at the forefront. Growing up on an island in southern Brazil shaped my connection to spaces between land and water, the built and the natural—a fluidity that permeates this work.
Each painting embeds fragments of personal history—familiar landscapes, past encounters, objects once owned—reconstructed into layered visual narratives that transform memory into imagined space, creating worlds that hover between reality and fiction. Influenced by Brazilian modernist architecture, I integrate structural elements with plants native to the Amazon—many now endangered—to create layered narratives examining the evolving and precarious relationship between human design and the natural world. Birds move through these spaces as symbols of freedom and transcendence.
These imagined environments suggest utopian possibilities while exposing what we stand to lose: the fragility of ecosystems and the impermanence of our constructed worlds.
